Survival basics for spiritual growth

If you're a new or older Christian, here are some basics you'll need to survive:

1) Learn the Word of God. Get into the New Testament immediately and learn who God says you are and what you have in Jesus Christ.

2) Get into fellowship with other believers who are more mature than you are and who are grounded in the Word.

3) Learn to pay attention and be guided by the Word and by the inward witness.

4) Learn how to plead the blood of Jesus over yourself, your family, your belongings, for protection.

5) Learn to use the name of Jesus. I'm convinced people die at the hands of the enemy because they don't know to use the name of Jesus out loud as a defense. I have always taught my daughter if she is ever threatened by an attacker of any sort, human or beast, to use the name of Jesus. You can command devils and demons with that name.

6) Learn to stand on the promises in God's Word until they are manifested in your life. Learn to use your faith to receive whatever you need.

7) Learn and begin to operate in God's principles of prosperity. Christians must be tithers, must sow into good ground, and expect a return.

8) Learn to walk in love and yield to the fruit of the spirit in your life. Nothing else will work unless you are walking in love.

9) Get baptized in the Holy Spirit and begin to pray in the spirit everyday. Praying in the spirit -tongues - will open the door for the supernatural gifts of the spirit and the power of God.

10) Learn the power of your own tongue and the effect the words of your own mouth have on your life now and forever.

11) Learn to control your tongue and realize the less idle talking you do, the less you have to repent of.

12) Begin to develop rich fellowship with God through prayer - not only asking, but listening for what He wants to say to you.

12) Praise and worship God in your home on a daily basis. God will be pleased with you and when you please God, He'll go out of His way to bless you.

14) Seek God diligently for His plan for your life. You are never too old to get into God's perfect will and allow Him to accomplish His purpose through you.

15) Work on becoming a wholly sanctified, consecrated, and perfectly yielded vessel, offering no resistance and no hindrances to what God wants to do in you and through you. We are righteous because of what Jesus did, but we lead holy lives through the choices we make.
