SPECIAL NOTICE about corresponding with prisoners
Please be warned not to send money to prisoners or deposit any money into your checking account
sent to you by a prisoner. Some people have lost hundreds even thousands of dollars through altered
money orders. Give encouragement only. Do not get romantically or emotionally involved. Don't
take any collect calls, even if the prisoner tells you a rich relative has just died and left him or
her a fortune so that all the calls will be paid for eventually.
Prisoners often need Christian literature or other things like art supplies or personal hygiene items.
We recommend that you use a post office box and do not give out your last name or your home address.
